Hougen Step Drills allow the convenience of drilling multiple size holes using one drill bit. These tools offer improved tool life because they are made premium Cobalt M42 HSS and TiN coated. The Hougen split point quickly starts the hole and the double angled flutes increase penetration speed. For use in sheet metal, aluminum, stainless steel and some plastics.
Features:
- Cobalt is harder than high speed steel and provides better wear resistance. It is commonly used on high tensile alloys.
- Titanium Nitride (TiN) is a multi-purpose coating which increases chip flow in softer materials. The heat and hardness resistance allows the tool to run at higher speeds than uncoated tools.
